grandMA3 onPC 2Port Node 2k

When you want to update a grandMA3 onPC Node, the following seems to be important:

  • Use an USB drive with a maximum capacity of 16 GB. The node doesn’t seem to like bigger memory sticks. I was successful using a 4 GB version.
  • Format the USB drive with FAT32 and the Master Boot Record partition scheme. macOS Disk Utility defaults to GUID Partition Map and that didn’t work for me.
  • There is no special firmware for the nodes. It’s included in the package used for the consoles. Just head to the download section on the MA Lighting homepage and go for the item labeled grandMA3 Software 1.x.y.z. Unpack the archive and copy its contents into the root folder of the USB drive.

Now switch of the node. Insert the USB drive. Switch it back on. Happy updating!
