When Martin Willnow and I founded grandcentrix on April 1st, 2009, we had no idea of the journey that would lie ahead of us. It was exhausting, rocky, winding, surprising, motivating, and instructive. Mostly though, it was deeply satisfying. There’s hardly anything as rewarding as literally building something from scratch and seeing it prosper.
After eleven tremendously successful years, we decided to end our professional lives and focus on the things that one way or the other always had to be subordinate during the crazy years: Our friends and families.
In November 2019 we exited 100% of grandcentrix to Vodafone.
Effective April 30st, 2021, we have asked Vodafone to accept our dismissals as Managing Directors and to terminate our employment contracts.
Our gratitude goes to everyone who worked with us, challenged us, supported us, stayed with us even during difficult times and always made us question the status quo. We couldn’t have done it without you.
With a tear in one eye and a smile in the other, we enter a new stage of our lives in which we proudly keep watching grandcentrix from the sideline.
Through Rottmann Ventures I will support young entrepreneurs in their early stages just as angel investors supported us a century ago.
